Fees & Charges

TridentList pricing is based on the pay-for-what-you-use principle. Because the quantities involved are often less than one cent, the fees are expressed in TridentList points. TridentList points can be purchased at the prices published below. When you purchase points, they are added to your TridentList account.

There are two types of fees:

Daily list-maintenance fee
30 TridentList points a day for each active mailing list in your account. This fee is charged to your TridentList account daily. For example, if you have one mailing list, the daily fee for your account will be 30 points.
 
Message sending fee
1 TridentList point^* for each message recipient^#. For example, if you send a message to a TridentList mailing list with 1000 active subscribers, it will cost you 1000 points.

Examples

List Management Fee: 30 x 30 = 900 points per month
(30 points per list per day, 30 days in a month)

Message Sending Fee: 500 x 1 x 4 = 2000 points per month
(500 subscribers, 1 point per e-mail per subscriber, 4 e-mails per month)

Total: 900 + 2000 = 2900 points per month
(approximate amount assuming exactly 30 days in a month)

Dollar Amount: As shown above, Mary will need to purchase about 2900 points per month. She could purchase 3000 points for $15 (1000 points for $5). She could also purchase 5000 points for $20 and this will last her about one and a half months. Her total monthly costs (averaged over a year) would be somewhere between $10 and $14.60 a month, depending on whether she buys the points in $5 packages or whether she buys them in larger packages at a lower cost (e.g. 20,000 points for $60).

Fine Print

* Message Size
The message fee is 1 point per recipient for a message of size 50Kb or less. This is ample even for an HTML message with some embedded images. Messages larger than 50Kb are charged at 1 point per recipient for every 50Kb or part thereof up to a maximum of 700Kb. The message size is defined as the size in bytes of the whole message received by TridentList from the client, including full message headers.
 
# Message Fee Calculation
The message fee is calculated at the time when the client authorizes the message to be sent out. Subsequent subscribe / unsubscribe requests received after message authorization but before the message delivery to all recipients is complete are not taken into account.
